Kindle Scout Review: The Dark Man by Desmond Doane

I received this book via Kindle Scout.
Wowzers. I was super excited to start this read and when I did I stayed up to finish it. There was no putting it down. It has been a good while since I read anything that deals with demons and ghosts and I miss it.
Ford use to be on a show called Graveyard: Classified until one episode ruined him and his friendship with Mike. He knows what he did was wrong and he lives with it every day and tries to redeem himself by helping out people who need help with ghost or demons and detectives who have cold cases. Sounds pretty amazing right? Well when he gets a call to help out on a cold case it seems that he may have encountered this demon before and this demon knows who he is.
With the help of his friend Mike they try to get rid of this spirit/demon but will the succeed? Or is there more to this than meets the eye. What is planned for Ford as it seems something a lot more sinister is going on.
I really enjoyed how we got to learn what caused him to lose his show and why he is living with guilt over a little girl named Chelsea Hopper.
Where this one left off I am very intrigued to see what all is going to go down with Ford, this right-upper demon and Chelsea. It seems it is all related somehow and the answers we seek is another book.
I felt very satisfied with the pace of the story and the characters. Mike had me laughing at quite a few of his comments. "You hear me you son of a bitch? You smell like shit! A big, stinking pile of ass goo, and once we are done, we're going to send you back to the bottom of Satan's toilet where you belong."
There are not a lot of comments made by Mike like this but just a couple that have you laughing and shaking your head.
Ford was a very likable character. You understood why he did what he did but your glad he was trying to make good in the world by getting rid of evil.
Can not wait to get my hands on book two, hope it is as good as this one.
