NetGalley review: The Blind

The Blind (The Apostles) by Coriell, Shelley (July 28, 2015) Mass Market Paperback - Shelley Coriell

I received this book via NetGalley to give an honest review.

This book has just as much action as the other two books, though we deal with different characters. Evie is a bomb specialist who works for the FBI and after being told to keep her nose clean and pretty much stay back from things she gets pulled in to an investigation. There is a man who is killing people by setting them up with explosives and having them go off. Evie is on a race against time to find out who this man is before he kills someone else. While doing her job of investigating she meets Jack he is a billionaire who seems to have his nose in this case a whole lot more than most people would. At first I was kind of suspicious of him but realized that well money buys all sorts of things along with having friends in high places. He also has a special tie in into the case which those who come close to Jack with feel the killers wrath.

I liked Evie as a character she is a no nonsense, independent woman who knows what she wants out of life. I loved how she put her life and soul on the line for her job. Yes there is a reason for her doing it and I could understand. I was glad when she put people in their places and they seemed to learn real quickly she is not a person to cross.

Jack even though he had money and seemed very caring towards Evie I felt the relationship between the two felt rushed. I don't know if it was because at the top of each chapter there was a date and time so I could tell how much time had passed or what. It just didn't click with me, but I wanted Evie and Jack to be happy.

My favorite character out of them all is still Smokey he only plays a small part within this story but he still makes an impact.

You can read this book as a stand alone but I say read the other two books as well. This book is packed full of action, some romance and humor when needed. I can't wait to see if there is another book out that has more of The Apostles.
