NetGalley review: Ink and Bone

Ink and Bone: A Novel - Lisa Unger

I received this book via NetGalley to give an honest review.

The title of this book plus the blurb pulled me in. We meet Finley who really tries to quiet the whispers and sounds that come to her, but it seems that The Hollows won't let that happen at all. When a young girl goes missing the young girl's mother Merri doesn't want to give up on finding her, which is when she enlists the help of PI Jones Cooper and Eloise but it seems this mission is for Finley and Finley only.

It is a race against time to find the missing girl but is it the right girl that they find or is it someone different?

We watch as Finley starts to come to terms with her gift but in the midst of embracing it she also has heartache.

I really enjoyed how we got to see Finley's p.o.v. to the girl that is being held captive and what she is going through. We even get a bit of insight to Merri and Wolf's marriage and how  losing their daughter has and still is affecting them as well.

I really like Finley as she just didn't jump into her abilities she has been scared and unsure to the point that she has done things to quiet it all though we all know that hasn't helped. She follows her own way of doing things while trying to maintain a balanced life. Where this book ended has me wondering if will get more with Finley and Jones and if we get more insight on the abilities she has.

This is one book that you will want to read. It has murder and mystery that will leave you wondering where it is going to go. It has ghosts which I loved how they were portrayed and they wanted their voice heard.

I think the author did a wonderful job with not only the plot but the characters as well.
